Some more exciting news: I've been working on a Warsow (an id tech 2-based arena shooter which blends elements of Quake and Unreal Tournament) map lately, with three alphas released. Soon enough, hopefully, I'll have a beta released. In the meantime, stick around for updates!
The not-so-exciting news: I've got a new logo up from my Assault Force map. Originally wanted to do a rotating banner, but it really messed up the layout and proved too much of a hassle for the time being.

It's here.
And it's ready to rock! The first beta for my map "Assault Force" has been released: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/27277779/DM-AssaultForce_B1.zip Feel free to give suggestions and report bugs before the final release comes out. So far I'm very pleased with how it turned out, and I learned so much from experimentation with the UT3 editor. Thanks, and enjoy the map! Another room for my upcoming UT3 map. That one room behind the glass panels is inaccessible, and contains a conveyor belt which loads twenty crates, and move - disappearing and reappearing from one side to the other to give the illusion of a continuous supply of boxes. The belt gave me some great practice with the powerful Kismet system, yet was surprisingly easy to design. Feel really good about how everything is turning out so far - only one room to go now and I should have a beta ready.
Holy crap! Been a while since my last update, so I should definitely add something in. Unfortunately I am not participating in this year's Maverick competition as I was wanting to experiment with some more modern engines like the Unreal Engine 3, and acquire some much-needed practice with them. Below is a little scene that's part of a bigger level I'm designing - note that this is an editor shot due to the arrows from the lights. This area isn't player-accessible, it's there for setting the environment more than anything else. Feel free to leave by suggestions and comments on anything that may seem rather odd - I'll keep them in mind. Just be constructive, please.
Have a cheerful summer! And watch out for mosquitoes. Yup, there's gonna be yet another Maverick mapping competition this Summer. Last year I entered with the CTF map "Tactical Assault" which received 9th place, so hopefully I will do better this time, especially since I won't be moving. :p
It'll be a TDM / FFA map this time around, and will be entitled "Aquamarine". Can you guess what it could be? Stay tuned to find out! Well that was a mouthful! Anyways here is a lineart of Sanae Kochiya from Touhou, as I promised to deliver. A lot of work was spent in getting the heads to the correct proportions (I seem to make heads too elongated for some reason) and making the fingers / toes look right.
Here's the lineart for My Little Dragonborn. I should be getting Sanae Kocihya (Le Serpent Serenissime) up soon as well, the sketch is still lying somewhere waiting to be scanned and traced.
I just joined the #SelfTaughtArtists group on DeviantArt to hopefully get some feedback and promotion for my artwork. If you are reading this and know of some other good groups for aspiring artists to submit works to and gain comments and views, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
The Miraculous Overlay is now finished. As usual, you can find it in the Artwork section under 2012.
As you can see I got a few more works planned. One is a chibi version of the well-known Dragonborn warrior from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and the next is a Touhou artwork featuring "Good Girl" Sanae Kochiya. Although I seriously have doubts about the good girl part... |
